About Me
Hello, I'm Jennifer Uy, a Graphic Designer specializing in print and motion design for user-centric experiences. I hold a degree in Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art & Design, majoring in Visual Arts with a specialization in Illustration. Additionally, I am an alumna of the New Media Design and Web Development program at BCIT, where I earned my diploma. Having attended the ICON Illustration Conference in Detroit, where I witnessed illustration's integration with AR, VR, Graphic Design, and Animation, I was inspired to explore motion design and graphic design tailored for users, which has pushed me to be where I am today.

IllustrationGoals
With my current and newly acquired skill sets, my goal is to secure a full-time hybrid position as a Graphic Designer. I aim to specialize in designing product packaging, magazine covers, logos, GIFs, user interface motion designs, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for desktop and mobile apps at an in-house company in Vancouver, BC.
After accumulating years of experience as a Graphic Designer, my subsequent goal is to advance within the industry and transition into the role of an Art Director. This career progression aligns with my aspiration to lead creative teams, oversee strategic design initiatives, and cultivate impactful visual narratives across various projects and campaigns.
Hobbies & Interests
Aside from my passion for illustration and graphic design, I love to travel, go on easy hikes, explore new places, read novels, visit art galleries and museums, watch Asian dramas, and listen to various music genres.
In my previous adventures, I visited Cebu, Philippines, known for its mangoes and stunning ocean waters, sands, and seashells. While shops and malls are common, branding and advertisements are prevalent. Witnessing malls hosting numerous new small vendors to support small businesses and promote weekly large events was inspiring. It reminded me that dreams can come true and that hard work can pay off despite competition.
